The United Way wishes to thank the 140 volunteers that helped drive and pick up food for the 26th Annual Letter Carriers’ Food Drive. This one-day food drive helps meet critical needs this time of year when we’re heading into the summer months and children are out of school. A big shout out to local citizens for donating nearly 292,095 pounds of food this year. Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Inc. rounded up an army of volunteers to help offload food as it arrived and readied it for transport to the warehouse where it will be distributed at no cost to partner agencies that serve or distribute food, and stock pantries. Finally, thank you to the Associations of Letter Carriers, National Rural Letter Carriers, and the United States Postal Service for delivering more than the mail.
